A long time supporter/volunteer, this is Marguerite’s first time showcasing her work at No Bones! We are lucky to have such a talented designer and illustrator on this year’s team and we can’t wait to see what she comes up with!
Marguerite was born a BBQ princess into a Lawrence, Kansas living dynasty. Her subsequent Midwestern coleslaw upbringing, as well as her travels at home and abroad, have inspired her artistic flavor. From harvesting gigantic vegetables in the Great Plains, backpacking the Washington wilderness, making illegal border crossings into Bolivia, and perfecting her tea ceremony skills in Japan, her adoption of local ways of life have piqued her curiosity while influencing her frame of mind.
Marguerite’s ongoing professional training began at Syracuse University where she studied Industrial & Interaction Design. Since then, she has taken additional classes and workshops in bookbinding & typography at PNCA.
As a designer and artist, Marguerite draws from her experience in letterpress, combining a mixture of hand-drawn and digital illustrations with quirky typography. Her artwork often focuses on animals with a subtle ironic humor.
Marguerite currently works as a creative graphic designer and as a part-time letterpress operator. Her free time is devoted to entering historical diorama competitions with her boyfriend, building teepees, sampling Oregon’s fine micro-brews, and summiting mountains.
